Firefox Adblock Plus Addon

Many websites contain ads and banners on them which are often distracting, some even playing music or sounds which can be very annoying. (You may have come across ads with monkey or girl dancing!!) This ads can cause website taking longer time to load. You can block ads and banners using Firefox Adblock Plus addon. You can choose an automatic filter subscription which will block most of the advertisements automatically. You can also exclude websites  if you wish to.

  1. To install the firefox Adblock Plus addon, Click Here.
  2. Install the addon and restart the firefox.
  3. Upon restart, you will be prompted to subscribe to  one of the recommended filter subscription. These filter subscriptions can block 99% of all the ads and banners.
  4. You can select any of these subscription, I always use ‘EasyList (USA)’. Click the radio button and click on subscribe. And you are good to go.
  5. Adblock Plus will block / remove most of the ads on the website.
  6. If you want to exclude any website from blocking, right click on Adblock icon on top right corner and select one of two options.
    • Disable on the domain (for example, http://facebook.com/)
    • Or you can just select the particular webpage you want to exclude.
  7. You can also configure the addon using preferences. (Keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + E) If you select one of the recommended subscription, you won’t need to configure anything for the most part.
  8. If you want to disable / enable the adblock plus addon, you can do so from right click menu on adblock icon.

Firefox Restart Addon

Every time, you add addon or plugin to Firefox browser, or you enable or disable any addon, or make a major changes in its configurations, Firefox will prompt you to restart. There are times, when you have many windows or tabs opened. And you want to keep it exactly same after the firefox restart.

Now using Firefox Quick Restart addon, you can easily restart the firefox any time, without loosing any of your opened tabs or windows.

  1. Click Here to download ‘QuickRestart‘ firefox addon page.
  2. Install the addon.
  3. Restart the firefox.
  4. Now, to restart firefox any time, Go to ‘File’ Menu, Click ‘Restart Firefox’.
  5. You can also use keyboard shortcut, Ctrl + Alt + R.

Firefox IE Tab Addon

Nowadays, Firefox Internet Browser can  open and view any websites. But every once in a while, you will come across some websites which does not look good in Firefox or does not open properly. There are some activeX controls which only works in Internet explorer. With Firefox IE Tab addon, you don’t need to quit firefox and open Internet explorer to open such websites.

IE tab firefox addon can open the website in Internet explorer from the same tab, or it can also open the new internet explorer window. So, you don’t have to copy and paste URL in IE. So, here are the steps to install, setup and use IE Tab.

  1. Click Here to download ‘IE tab‘ firefox addon.
  2. Install the addon.
  3. Restart the firefox.
  4. Now, you can open any webpage in IE, by right clicking the tabs and select ‘Switch rendering engine’ (to open the webpage in same tab) or ‘Open in Ext App’ (to open new Internet explorer window).
  5. You can also configure IE tab addon, from tools, addons, IE tabs Options.
  6. You can enable site filters for particular site, so every time, you open that site, it automatically opens in IE tab. (For example, http://windowsupdate.com/)
  7. You can also change the context menu for IE tabs from ‘Context menu’ options.
